Homeward Bones
A Unity Game made in 2 weeks as part of FIEA’s Rapid Prototype Production Course.
Homeward Bones is about a zombie, fresh out of the grave who’s first thought is “HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN SINCE I’VE FED MY DOG???”
Role: Technical Designer
Responsibilities:
Audio Implementation
Designing and implementing the construction site puzzle, the awning interaction and the rooftop puzzle sequence using a tool developed by our engineer
Having an engineer who was experienced in developing design tools was incredible, the flexibility it offered my in my ability to quickly implement and test puzzle designs sped up my workflow really drastically. The work I’m proudest of is the construction site because I think the puzzle leverages all 3 of the interactions that the zombie arm can produce: pull things to the player, pull the player to a location, and yank something.
All the interactions for the puzzles, I scripted by hand in C#
Voice acted the zombie, wrote all the dialogue, and performed post processing to make my voice sound convincingly ‘undead’
Memorable Moment: The team talked me into recording “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” to play over the end credits
